NELLY'S STORY

Nelly remains at Kulana Malama Nursing Home on Karayan Street in Ewa Beach Hawaii. She sustained multiple injuries in 2008 by her mother and because of this has had her frontal lobe removed, trach placement, feeding tube and massive stroke all at 6 years old. We know that her alleged father Ronel Pascual still has custody of her eventhough he is the one that left her with a mother that was not capable of caring for her.
They were told not to move on their own and also for him not to leave Dela Pascual, Ronela's mother alone with Ronela. CPS Hawaii has Nelly under tight security at this nursing home and only those invited by her father can visit. I called the nursing home this summer and spoke to their Director of Nursing myself Paul Bursall. It is interesting because he told me that they at the nursing home knew nothing about Ronela. He gave me the name and number of her social worker at Kulana Malama. I called several times but suddenly they did not respond to my calls. I can only suspect that this is because CPS Hawaii has told them not to talk to us. We will place many direct links to information from the CPS website that they in 2008 themselves released.

NEWS REPORT FROM 2008

Ronela, a beautiful 15 month old girl, came to us as a foster child on April 1st, 2003. We cared for her as if she was our own birth child, until she was four years old. She came from a background of much neglect and turmoil. Read the CPS records here. Nelly was diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Failure to Thrive. Nelly, as the years went by could be a handful and her behavior mostly showed while we were at home. She could be very disruptive at times and also had a very difficult time falling asleep at night. Scott and I through showing her love, had control over her behavior. Scott stood for hours sometimes just holding her in his arms until she fell asleep.
We educated ourselves on RAD.

We responded to her behavior with God's love.
Nelly was stable; she was enjoying her time at church and also her most favorite person in the world, her foster brother, Evan. They were inseparable from the time Evan was four months old.

During moments of anxiety Nelly would stumble over her feet. It looked like a "clumsy walk." She also would stick out her tongue in between talking it seemed this was uncontrollable. Nelly's right eye also would go up as if she was having a seizure. We had her checked and she was not having any seizures. All these behaviors exhibited while she still was having visits and were under control when visits with the biological parents had stopped.
Nelly had no visits for more than a year and because of the Kinship Policy implemented by CPS Hawaii Nelly suddenly was again re-introduced to the same mother who neglected her. Nelly did not meet her father until after she had been with us; he came from the Philippines and was a complete stranger to her. She started exhibiting her behavior all over again. Scott and I wrote letters and warned everyone that we thought would listen. Judge Murukami, Dr. Rutter, TC Kim and the Social Worker, Sharon Lucas. She ultimately made the decision to return Nelly to her parents. They did not listen.
Nelly was returned to her biological parents on March 3rd, 2006

On August 2nd, 2008 my phone rang ,while I was in Texas. Nelly had been admitted to the hospital on July 21st and was on life support. They were considering removing her from life support. Ronela's mother had pushed her and the father was not there to protect her. I returned to Hawaii the next day. We had been praying for Nelly for 2 1/2 years. I had such a strong discernment about her that I had a bag with her dolly and stuffed animal ready to go for about a month. I had prepared the other children over the last months that mommy was going to go to Hawaii soon because of Nelly. The story continues...
